A hearing device's Noise Reduction Rating (NRR) is an estimated unit of measurement used to determine the amount of sound in decibels it is capable of blocking out when properly worn.

CE EN 352:2002 (SNR)

A hearing device's Single Number Rating (SNR) is an estimated unit of measurement used to determine the amount of sound in decibels that it is capable of blocking out when properly worn. SNR also rates environmental noise in three categories: high-frequency (H), mid-frequency (M), and low-frequency (L).
